Meet Mrs. Wood

Hello Fabulous Fourth Graders (and families)!

My name is Mrs. Wood and I am thrilled to be your 4th grade teacher. This is my 4th year teaching at Barretts and my 3rd year teaching 4th grade.

Becoming a teacher and working with children has always been something I knew I would do. The influence of many great teachers who made learning fun and exciting inspired me to pursue a career as a teacher.

Me & Mrs. Griffin on the first day of 2nd grade.

After high school I left O'Fallon, Missouri to pursue a degree in Education at Missouri State University in Springfield. During my time in Springfield I had many opportunities to work in Springfield Public Schools. It was during those experiences that I decided I would declare an emphasis in literacy.

After graduation I secured a teaching job in the Camdenton R-III School District. I spent my first year teaching at Hawthorn Elementary teaching 4th grade. After moving back home I taught 2nd grade at Barretts for two years.

I worked hard to complete my Master's in Educational Technology through Missouri Baptist University. I am passionate about the meaningful integration of technology in the classroom. I am constantly learning about new apps and sites to make instruction more personalized for each and every learner.

In my free time my husband and I love spending time with our two dogs, Bella & Nellie. We also love to spend time with our friends and family at the Lake of the Ozarks.

I look forward to learning with you this year!
